Choosing an aged garlic extract supplement manufacturer should begin with evidence, not unit price. The strongest candidates can show how the approved aged garlic ingredient is defined, how raw-material lots are controlled, how product specifications connect to batch release, how the dosage form is evaluated, and how changes are handled after approval.
A useful shortlist test is simple: Can the manufacturer connect ingredient → specification → production record → finished batch → label without changing the meaning of the product along the way?
Once a brand has decided to launch an aged garlic extract product, the manufacturer-selection question is narrower than product development: which supplier can repeatedly manufacture the approved product and provide the evidence needed to support that decision?
That makes manufacturer selection different from comparing catalog pages. A quotation can show price, package count and commercial terms. It cannot by itself show whether two suppliers are quoting the same aged garlic preparation, whether their quality systems control the same specifications, whether a dosage-form proposal is technically workable, or whether changes will be communicated before they affect a commercial batch.

Manufacturer quotes become difficult to compare when one supplier discusses a concentration ratio, another discusses a garlic-equivalent figure and another quotes an actual extract quantity. All can be valid numbers, but they describe different things.

For U.S. Supplement Facts, a dried botanical extract from which the solvent has been removed is declared by the weight of the dried extract. An original-herb equivalent or concentration ratio can provide additional context, but it should not replace the required quantitative amount of the dried extract.
A manufacturer should be able to connect the aged garlic component received at the facility with the finished batches that used it. Under 21 CFR Part 111, incoming components are controlled through receiving examination, quarantine, representative sampling, quality-control review and lot identification.
For a component that is a dietary ingredient, confirm that the manufacturer has an appropriate identity-verification approach before use.
Ask how upstream suppliers are evaluated and how supplier documentation is reviewed, qualified and periodically reconfirmed where supplier COAs are relied upon.
Confirm that incoming lots receive unique identifiers that connect supplier, receipt status and disposition to the dietary supplement batches manufactured from them.
The important distinction is that a supplier certificate of analysis is not the same thing as the manufacturer's entire incoming-control system. For dietary-ingredient identity, Part 111 generally requires at least one appropriate identity test or examination before use unless the specific exemption process applies. For other applicable component specifications, reliance on a supplier COA is allowed only when the regulatory conditions for supplier qualification and COA reliability are met.
A specification defines what has to be true for a material, process stage or finished batch to be acceptable. A COA or other release document reports selected results. Manufacturer evaluation should confirm that those documents belong to one controlled system rather than treating the COA as the specification itself.
Some controls may be documented in component records, in-process records, batch records or other quality documentation rather than printed on the commercial COA. The buyer's job is to define the document package needed for the project and confirm that it connects to the approved release specification—not to force every internal control into one certificate.
If your project is a softgel, manufacturer evaluation has to go beyond “Do you make softgels?” A softgel is a connected formulation system in which the internal fill, shell, unit size and packaging have to be evaluated together.

Part 111 does not mean that every conceivable specification must be independently tested on every finished batch. The manufacturer establishes product specifications and uses an appropriate verification strategy—including selected finished-batch tests or examinations and supporting component/in-process controls—to demonstrate that the production system is producing conforming dietary supplements.
During manufacturer evaluation, ask which finished-product specifications are directly verified, which are supported by component or in-process controls, how sampling is determined, and what the customer receives as evidence of release. The answer should reflect the actual aged garlic product rather than a testing package copied unchanged from an unrelated supplement.
U.S. dietary-supplement labeling does not generally require an expiration date. If a brand chooses to place an expiration, best-by or similar date on the product, the date should be supported by valid data. Ask what stability data or testing support is available for the actual formula and commercial packaging rather than assuming a generic shelf life from another product.
For a dried botanical extract sold in the United States, the quantitative Supplement Facts amount is the dried-extract weight, not the weight of the original garlic represented by an equivalent statement. This makes artwork review part of supplier evaluation: the technical team should be able to connect the approved formula to Serving Size, actual dietary-ingredient quantity and the final label.
For qualifying U.S. structure/function and related claims under section 403(r)(6), the manufacturer, packer or distributor marketing the claim must meet the applicable requirements, including substantiation that the claim is truthful and not misleading, the required disclaimer and notification to FDA no later than 30 days after first marketing the supplement with the claim. Private-label parties should agree who handles these responsibilities before final artwork is approved.
Manufacturer selection should consider what happens after the first successful order. Raw-material sources change. Specifications are revised. Packaging components become unavailable. Equipment and processes may be updated. A reliable supply relationship needs a defined route for reviewing changes that could affect the approved product.
Part 111 requires quality-control personnel to approve or reject processes, specifications, written procedures, controls, tests, examinations and modifications that may affect identity, purity, strength or composition. A buyer-facing change-notification agreement is the commercial layer placed on top of that internal control system.
Avoid writing a change clause so broadly that every harmless internal adjustment requires customer approval. Focus it on changes that can affect the agreed ingredient, formulation, product specification, label, packaging, quality attributes or regulatory position.
